Bulk water infrastructure upgrades

LinkWater is upgrading several reservoirs and pump stations as part of a major infrastructure upgrade.

Refurbishment of pumps, roofs, internal floors and walls will improve water quality and maintain structural and mechanical integrity of LinkWater's bulk water assets.

(+) Aspley Reservoir - Lawrence Road, Chermside (March to August 2011)

LinkWater will commence major internal and external refurbishment of the Aspley Reservoir in March 2011. The work is expected to take four months, requiring some heavy machinery. The reservoir will be emptied and specially modified to enable internal access for machinery and personnel. Water supplies will be serviced by alternative reservoirs, supported by valve modifications to regulate pressure and flow to Aspley and surrounding areas. Although general public access is not permitted, additional security and some traffic management will be adopted during the works.

(+) Kuraby Reservoir - Compton Road, Kuraby (May to November 2011)

As part of our commitment to continuously improve the water transport system, LinkWater will refurbish Kuraby Reservoir that supplies your drinking water. This work is needed to maintain the high standard of your water supply. All possible steps to prevent impacts of this work on customers have been taken. Your drinking water will continue to comply with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and, as usual, will be tested regularly. LinkWater thanks you for your cooperation and patience while these critical improvements to your water system are being made.
