Living or working on LinkWater's easements

Living or working on LinkWater's easements and/or within its infrastructure corridors

LinkWater, the Queensland Bulk Water Transport Authority, currently manages and operates 585km of bulk water pipelines and related infrastructure throughout South East Queensland (SEQ).

Most of LinkWater's infrastructure is protected by registered easements. Infrastructure is located on both public and private land.

The information contained in the LinkWater publications, listed below, provide a general overview of activities that may be permitted on LinkWater's easements and/or infrastructure corridors and what activities require written consent via a Consent Application process.  LinkWater will assess each application received for consent to undertake proposed works and or activities against the following criteria:

  • workplace and public safety
  • our requirements for unrestricted access to the pipeline and/or associated infrastructure
  • our operations and maintenance requirements
  • the structural integrity of the pipeline and associated infrastructure.
