Our achievements

LinkWater is extremely proud of our achievements to date which have seen us evolve from a new entity to a fully operational authority responsible for critical Water Grid infrastructure.

On 1 July 2008, LinkWater made the successful transition to a fully operational entity with the acquisition of 350km of potable bulk water pipelines and related infrastructure from South East Queensland (SEQ) councils.

LinkWater worked closely with councils, and also construction alliances, building new Water Grid pipelines to allow the seamless transfer of these assets into LinkWater's control.

We are now moving, on average, 600 megalitres of water per day (ML/d) into the SEQ distribution network, allowing the sharing of water from various sources around the region.

In parallel with achieving operational capability, LinkWater has been firmly focussed on efficiency. This has enabled us to deliver operating costs below budget, demonstrating our commitment to add value to government and the community.

LinkWater is providing an efficient and effective bulk water transport service. We will continue to work in partnership with our key stakeholders responsible for water delivery in SEQ to ensure the needs of the community are met efficiently, effectively and sustainably.
